1 killed, 4 injured in Lauderhill shooting, police say
LOUDERHILL, Florida. — Police are investigating two separate shootings that left one dead and four injured in Lauderhill over the weekend, authorities said.
The first incident became known around 23:25 Saturday.
Officers received two ShotSpotter alerts near the 3100 block of Northwest Second Street, according to Lauderhill police.
Upon arrival, police said they found four adults with gunshot wounds.
Two of the four victims were transported to Broward Health Fort Lauderdale by Lauderhill Fire and Rescue and Broward Sheriff Fire and Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Police said a third victim was scratched in the lower back and treated at the scene, while a fourth victim was declared dead at the scene.
Detectives said preliminary investigative information showed the victims were standing in the front yard of the house when a black Dodge Charger drove up to the house and the occupants started firing from the car.
The car then fled east along Northwest Second Street toward Northwest 31st Avenue, police said.
The crime scene was located and the Lauderhill Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit and crime scene investigators responded to the incident, investigators said.
In the second incident, Lauderhill police said they received a ShotSpotter alert around the 5300 block of NW 18th Street.
Upon arrival, officers found an underage black man who had been shot multiple times.
The Lauderhill Rescue Service responded and rushed the juvenile to Broward Health Ft Lauderdale for treatment, police said.
Authorities have released no information about the victims and suspects or suspects involved in both attacks.
The motive for both shots has not been established.
