A porch pirate stole packages from a Texas woman. This is how she got her revenge

When she watched the security video and saw that the thief had stolen her packages, she knew she had to take revenge, even if it was a little “immature”.

PEKAN GROVE, Texas. At least one Pecan Grove resident has come up with a clever way to fight back after several packages were recently stolen from her porch.

Several residents have recently reported their packages being stolen, including one who said she laid out a package of shirts for some of her customers last week, but they were stolen by a thief. She did not want her identity to be revealed.

“I panicked… I ran outside and everything on my porch was gone,” she said. “It was painful. I cried. I was so upset. I just feel like I’ve been attacked.”

After the dust settled, she checked the CCTV video, which showed a man in an Amazon vest sorting through her packages and taking what he wanted.

She called the police and also posted the video on social media. It was then that she learned that she was not the only victim of a pirate.

“The parcels were stolen… a gray car drove by… stole the parcels from everyone,” the woman said.

This neighbor was determined to fight back, so she took matters into her own hands.

“I laid out several bait bags with my children’s diapers. I wrapped them in boxes,” she said.

Of course, the pirate took the bait.

“The very immature side was very happy. At first I couldn’t believe it,” said the Pecan Grove resident.

On Tuesday evening, the Sugar Land police said they may be on a business break. They said the license plate reader helped them identify the person they believe is the prime suspect in the theft.

“He is a serious suspect in the cases we are investigating. It could be useful for the rest of the package thefts that have occurred in the rest of the county,” said Doug Adolf, Public Information Officer for the Sugar Land Police Department.

The suspect was arrested on Highway 90 on Highway 6 for two traffic violations.

“He was driving a vehicle that was identified … and what was in the car, we cannot disclose … this is part of the investigation,” Adolf said.

Pecan Grove neighbors are hoping the police have found the right person.

“It’s already a hard life. The cost of living is rising. We are all fighting. It makes life difficult for all of us,” the resident said.

Police said the suspect is bound by misdemeanor charges. They do not disclose his identity, saying that the investigation is still ongoing.

If he is formally accused of stealing from the Pecan Grove porch, he will be charged with a felony.

All residents of the area who had a package stolen and who did not report it to the police are asked to call them immediately. Police are also asking people to check CCTV footage.
