Florida corrections officer jailed for domestic violence

TAMPA, Florida (TodayNews) — A 22-year-old Florida Correctional Officer has been arrested on charges of domestic violence just three years into his career at the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, July 19, deputies received a domestic violence complaint involving suspect Dylan Landmark, who has worked at the sheriff’s office since June 2020.

In response, the sheriff’s office launched a “comprehensive internal investigation to take a closer look at the incident,” the CCSO said in a statement.

Landmark was arrested a day later and charged with a felony in the household. He was later placed on unpaid administrative leave and taken to the Charlotte County Jail.

“We are not above the law. In fact, I demand higher standards from my employees, both jury and civilian,” said Sheriff Bill Prammell. “As sheriff of this county, I have a responsibility to uphold the trust and safety of our community. When any member of our agency faces allegations that could undermine that trust, we take it seriously.”

If you or someone you know has been a victim of abuse, you can seek help by contacting the CCSO or the Abuse and Rape Emergency Center (CARE) at the CARE 24-hour crisis hotline: 941-627-6000 or the CARE sexual assault hotline at 941-637-0404.
