Flagler County Sheriff’s Office officials were able to intercept Cameron’s car near SR-100 and CR-205 after it slowed for no apparent reason, officials said.
When Cameron stopped, the front right wheel of her car slid into a ditch, causing the rear right wheel to rise several feet off the ground. According to deputies, the car became unstable, rocking back and forth near a deep drainage channel.
Cameron and the child were immediately removed from the car for their safety by a deputy.
The DUI investigation found that Cameron showed signs of a violation. She also allegedly smelled strongly of alcohol and failed several sobriety tests. Deputies said her blood alcohol level was 0.15, nearly double the legal limit.
Deputies took the 2-year-old to a local community center until a family member arrived to take care of him. This was reported in the Department of Children and Family Affairs.
