Lindsay Lohan gives birth to first child, a boy
Lindsay Lohan has given birth to her first child.
The ‘Parent Trap’ star and her husband, financier Bader Shammas, are the parents of a “handsome, healthy son” named Luai, her rep told The Associated Press in a statement Monday.
“The family is in seventh heaven with love,” the statement said.
Lohan, 37, gave birth in Dubai, where the couple lives, according to Page Six. The exact date of her son’s birth has not been released.
Luay is an Arabic name meaning “shield” or “protector”. Lohan announced her pregnancy in March in a photo posted to Instagram wearing a white jumpsuit that read “coming soon”.
She has lived abroad for several years and has been married to Shammas since last year.
Lohan was once a top tabloid figure, but now she has no public profile. She has returned to acting, starring last year in the Netflix series Falling in Love with Christmas and the streaming service’s upcoming romantic comedy Irish Desire.
In a June interview with Allure magazine, Lohan said she was thrilled to be a mother and talked about balancing work and family life.
“I can’t wait to see what it feels like and what it’s like to just be a mom,” she said. “It’s stunning in a good way.”
Lohan turned to her Freaky Friday co-star for advice.
“I was talking to Jamie Lee Curtis recently and she said, ‘Just bring your baby with you and you’ll be fine,'” she said.
Lohan’s mother, Dina Lohan, recently told People magazine that her daughter wants to be a mother.
“Lindsey has always loved children because I love children and my mother loves children; I am one of four,” she said. “We have a big family, so she always wanted children. And she’s so motherly.”
Regarding Shammas, Dina said that he is “so cute and they are so happy. They’re just very happy and ready.”
