FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida — Only four days remain until Inter Miami’s big Friday game, where Lionel Messi will make his official debut for the team.
The city of Fort Lauderdale is gearing up for Friday’s big game, which will be Messi’s first on the team.
On Tuesday, Messi showed Inter Miami some of his training just a few days before he is expected to take them to the field.
“We are very excited about this new milestone and this new era for Fort Lauderdale,” said Greg Chavarria, city manager.
Chavarria says they did a lot to prepare for the fanfare.
On Tuesday, people were already lining up to catch a glimpse of the football legend. Inter Miami’s $170 million DRV PNK stadium will now be able to accommodate an additional 3,000 seats.

Additional parking has also been provided by private providers: “This allows more fans to come and enjoy the stadium. We will definitely have police, public safety, people who will control traffic, as well as pedestrians for their safety.”
Chavarria said Inter Miami would also have law enforcement on duty to provide additional security if needed.
As we approach game day, the city manager said the logistics are still in flux: “The police are working hand in hand with the Inter Miami logistics team, they are preparing the plan, they are preparing the signage, and also the awareness. As far as I understand, there is information that is provided to those who buy tickets.”
City officials, along with the police department, said they would update their social media pages with any news of road closures or detours on the day.
They ask those who plan to come to come early. Now they are completing the finishing of the territory.
They expect thousands of people to want to witness history.
