Miami-Dade Police Director Severely Injured in Tampa Area

TAMPA, Florida. The director of the Miami-Dade Police Department was critically injured in the Tampa area. according to South Florida agency.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said its investigation began Sunday night on Interstate 75 south of Tampa, but gave a few other details. He underwent surgery on Monday morning, the department said. As of around 8:30 amThe MDPD says Ramirez is in “critical but stable condition.”
CBS Miami reported that Ramirez was in the Tampa Bay area due to the Florida Sheriffs Association Summer Conference, which runs July 23-26.
The Florida Highway Patrol and the FDLE are reportedly investigating. For its part, FHP said that today FDLE agents and patrol patrols are conducting interrogations.
