Police later detained Gonzalez and found six catalytic converters in the back seat of his Benz, as well as “several” extra saws, police said.
According to the report, Gonzalez sawed off the catalytic converter of the victim’s car halfway before the cops interrupted the theft.
Gonzalez, who lives in Hialeah, was arrested on six counts of grand theft of auto parts and one count of dealing in stolen property, attempted robbery of an unoccupied vehicle, possession of burglary tools, criminal disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and loitering or vagrancy. .
The Cuban citizen was already on bail on two charges of burglary and resisting arrest, according to prison records.
