Taylor Swift has donated enough money for 75,000 meals to the Food Bank of the Rockies, the organization says.

On her first night in Denver, Taylor Swift donated to the Food Bank of the Rockies, which offers over a million meals a week in Colorado.

The nonprofit did not say how much Swift donated, but said it paid for 75,000 meals in a press release on Friday.

“Now we see a greater need than ever before. This hits Food Bank of the Rockies’ budget hard. To meet the needs of our hunger-stricken neighbors, we are spending three times as much on food as we did before COVID every month. “, – said Aditi Desai, chief marketing officer of Food Bank of the Rockies. “We have been able to meet the growing demand thanks to the generosity of people like Taylor Swift. Her gift will help spur our work in the Rockies and allow us to distribute more food to our communities. I was shocked and then thrilled to hear the news! We are grateful for her inspirational support in the fight against hunger.”

The gift comes at a time when more individuals and families are struggling with the rising cost of living. Feeding America predicts that one in 11 people in the region are currently hungry. Between inflation and the end of many of the COVID-era relief measures, such as the provision of emergency SNAP benefits, the need for aid has skyrocketed.

Food Bank of the Rockies reports 40-60% more people are visiting its mobile pantry now compared to the same period last year. The nonprofit says it distributes enough food for more than 180,000 meals a day.
