There is no winner in Tuesday’s Mega Millions draw. Jackpot reached $720 million

ST. LOUIS – (FloridaToday.news) – The Mega Millions jackpot rose to around $720 million after no winning tickets were sold – again. Now it is one of two national lotteries with huge jackpots, but equally huge chances of winning them.

No ticket for Tuesday’s Mega Millions draw matched white balls 19, 22, 31, 37, 54 and golden Mega Ball 18.

The new jackpot is the 7th largest in Mega Million history, the lottery said in a statement. On Monday, the country’s other major lottery, Powerball, was also left without a winner, with a jackpot now of around $1 billion, the third largest in the game.

For Mega Millions, an estimated $720 million jackpot in the next draw will only be shared between the winner who chooses an annuity that pays out over 29 years. Nearly all of the top prize winners opted for a cash payout, which was valued at $369.6 million for Tuesday night’s draw.

The largest ever Mega Millions jackpot was $1.537 billion, won by an anonymous South Carolina player on October 23, 2018.

Despite the high odds of playing 1 in 302.6 million, players continue to buy tickets as the size of the top prize grows.

The last time a Mega Millions player won the top prize was on April 18th.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states plus Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands.
