Vote for the best ice cream in Tampa Bay this weekend at the St. Pete Pier.

The free event will run from 11:00 to 20:00 on July 16.

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — No matter how you scoop, churn, or savor this cone, there’s nothing like ice cream on a hot Florida day.

That’s why this weekend, St. Pete Pier hosts the second annual Tampa Bay Ice Cream Festival in honor of National Ice Cream Day.

This Sunday, July 16, guests will be able to taste ice cream from two dozen local sellers from 11:00 to 20:00.

The ice cream range ranges from more traditional cones, soft servings and custard to gourmet popsicles, gelato and Italian ice. The menu will feature unusual flavors such as tampa with guava and cream cheese and lime tart, as well as several dairy-free options.

And you should be ready to test your taste buds – guests will vote for the best ice cream in Tampa Bay.

While entry to the festival is free, ice cream will need to be purchased from individual vendors. According to the forecast for Sunday, intermittent rain and thunderstorms are possible, but the event takes place in any weather.

Paid parking is available at the pier and at the Sundial Garage two blocks from the hotel. Nevertheless, the organizers of the festival recommend “using carsharing services for a responsible celebration.”
